What You Need to Know about Fantasy Forest Festival, Featuring Subtronics & Friends [Announcement]
How does a beautiful Saturday night filled with camping, Bass Music, food and incredible vibes sound to you? I want to share you all about a South Carolina secret that’s located just two and a half hours south of Charlotte. This weekend faces a mysterious evening packed with some of the Southeast’s most prominent Bass Music producers as well as a wide variety of visual entertainment as the good folks over at Rage Stars eagerly prepare themselves for the third edition of their popular Fantasy Forest Festival. Get ready for a wild ride folks, because this special night is taking place in Saint George, SC on Saturday, April 28th. Let’s check out some of the acts that are making this all night rager an enticing weekend delight.
All levels of excitement went through the roof when I found out that a monstrous, one-eyed, yellow creature from the sewers of Philadelphia was returning to the Carolinas. Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past year, I’m certain your ears have been blessed with the graciously wonkified, heavy artillery sounds of Subtronics. This madman destroyed his North Carolina debut on October 14th as he took over club SERJ with Uber for the Riddim Pals Tour. Since then he’s traveled the nation with the likes of Ganja White Night and Dirt Monkey, while destroying performances on Excision’s Tour, Okeechobee Music Festival among several others. Subtronics is a madman on the decks, and most importantly, a wizard in the studio. Check out his newest projects to get more familiar with his sound, if you haven’t already caught the fever: Thermal Expansion EP & Depth Perception EP, and now, the brand new Wook Lazer EP which dropped on Never Say Die on April 20th. If you want a first look
There are several other producers on this line up that make Fantasy Forest worth checking. It’s been a few months since I’ve caught a proper set from Raleigh based super-producer Devious, a true force to be reckoned with in the underground community. Just a few short weeks ago Devious released a disgusting tune Foul Play on Dirtysnatcha Promotions titled “Ready“ that I absolutely cannot wait to hear in a live setting. Another performer who’s set to obliterate the Fantasy Forest is Atlanta native SCALES, a talented producer who absolutely smashed his late night silent disco performance at Imagine Music Festival. I’m also very excited to catch my first performance by Myrtle Beach bass killer, R3X0R, who just recently destroyed his performance at the PhaseOne show put on by Create. last month. Other names include the likes of Bryson Taylor, Killtrak, Canvas and many more. Also, be prepared for a special Deep Dub, Riddim flavored performance by yours truly!
The festival grounds will feature three areas of sound, including a special main stage, the unique Owl’s Nest stage organized by Pitchrx & Friends, and a Silent Disco put forth by New Wave Sound. Expect a highly interactive set up of lazers and lights to complement the musical ambiance! Miracle Tasty Express and the Ice Cream Team will be on site to take care of all your Bass driven hunger needs, while live painters steal away your attention with their skills and talents. Bring a tent, or leave it at home! The festivities begin on the 28th at 2:00 PM and end on the 29th at Noon, which mean the shenanigans don’t ever have to end! (at least until Sunday brunch). Take a chance and live life on the wild side at this year’s Fantasy Forest experience. You can RSVP Here to let your friends know where the move is for next Saturday, and you can Purchase Tickets Here to save some money at the door. See you all in Paradise very, very soon!
