Ladies and gentlemen, I’m very excited to present you all a beautiful summer opportunity to be part of a unique, creative, and festive camping experience that is only accessible through a portal in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Today we’re talking about the one and only Yonderville Music & Arts Festival – you’re going to want to sit down for this one folks! Yonderville is an East Coast Jam Band, Wonkified Electro festival that is well worth checking out. Get ready for a fantastic, action packed first weekend of July – because the good people over at Sugarcube Productions have gone to the ends of the earth to bring forth a diverse experience for anyone who appreciates appreciates unique music. Let’s break down a few details that put Yonderville on our must visit festival list of the summer. (Photos shot by Joey Carbone)
It’s always nice discovering a festival that isn’t too far away from home. Yonderville Music Festival sits in a small town in Virginia called Rixleyville, located only about five hours away from Charlotte, ninety minutes from DC and three and half hours from Philly. It will be held at a crafty 55+ acre campground that the locals known as the Verdun Adventure Bound. The website had a picture of a rock climbing wall and a lake, so that should make the weekend a little more interesting. The three day festival features a wide variety of top notch Jam bands and Electronic producers from all over the world. The Culpeper, Virginia based production company did more than an excellent job curating their lineup, by booking several of notable acts, new names (to me) and special surprises for the weekend. Aside from great names such as The Widdler and Shlump, who have both torn down the streets of Charlotte several times in the past, and Atlanta’s very own Daily Bread, a wizard a mixing in Chill, Hip-Hop inspired Electronic sounds, I can’t say I’ve seen any other act on this lineup perform before!
Yondervillains should get really excited about acts such as Portland, Maine’s Of the Trees and Pretoria South Africa’s, Chee, two massive producers who must know what the inside of an alien space craft looks like, given their mind blowing, extraterrestrial, experimental sound. How about some Big Chocolate? I’ve been trying to see the OG Dubstep producer since his Warped Tour days. Not to mention, Sugarcube is throwing in some mind altering performances by Florida’s Mystic Grizzly, while showing off the strange sounds of Levitation Jones. But a true game changing element is the debut festival performance by the TRUTH and Youngsta collaborative project Shadow People. I’m also very interested in catching the live sounds of bands like Baltimore heroes, LITZ, Philly’s Wax Future and Cleveland’s very own Broccoli Samurai.
Excited to hit Joliet, IL with my pals Esseks and Jantsen. Finna get heckin' carayzeeeeeeeeeeTickets >>>> https://tinyurl.com/ycb38u5a

But those are just the big names at the top of the flyer. There are plenty of regional acts that I’m really eager to catch as well. A few of these names include the Virginia Bassment Boys Tre Justice and Ruckle, two very hospitable and dedicated artists who give Fredericksburg a good name; the experimental style of McWavy, which I haven’t experienced since a Boiler Room Vibes show in NC back in 2016, the wild style of DMV veterans Choppy Oppy, especially since group member Jared gave me a pen at last year’s Nightmare Festival; as well as other hyped up performers like Seromatic, be.IN, Sketchy Pete, and Morphics.
This festival will feature two unique stages to cater to all fans who plan on visiting Yonderville this summer! For the electronic music lovers, we’ve got to say thanks to the folks over at Depth Perception for their great efforts. On the other hand, Jam band fanatics will find peace and paradise at the Jamwich orchestrated stage. Do you folks enjoy beer? Well, you’re in luck! There will be a special Beer Garden organized by Culpeper’s very own Far Gohn Brewing Company; and for the wine lovers, there will be a wine garden set up by Mountain Run Winery. But what’s beer and wine without food? Get ready for some tasty East Coast bites as Yonderville organizes the perfect food vendors for you’re liking. And whenever you’re ready to work on that food baby, you can participate in the several Yonderville Yoga Sessions that will help you make room for another one!
By the way folks, Sugarcube has actually jut put out the daily schedule for the music festival if you’re itching to find out! While there are only two days of music listed below, the curators have actually crafted a special Thursday night preparty that will taking place before the real shenanigans begin. So brace up because there’s plenty more to come!
After visiting a small based music festival near Oak Hill, WV last summer called Clustxr Music Festival, I’m really curious to see what a camping styled, highly diversified festival is like in the larger of the two Virginia’s. I also can’t wait to find out what other Yonderville secrets will emerge in the coming months. Only time will tell. Here’s a little extra hype for the festival! A gnarly performance by LITZ should get you jumping in your boots about Yonderville.
And when you’re done, hit play on that Chee mix below.
