When Getter Made Riddim [A Lost Era]
If you’ve been keeping up with EDM and Bass Music trends this year, then you’ve probably heard the phrase “Suh Dude” yelled out by some random wook at practically every rave you’ve been to in 2016. A few minutes of research later and boom, you’ve discovered that one of the guys behind Suh Dude is a super duper popular producer named GETTER. Since the start of the year he’s released two outstanding EPs “Radical Dude” and “Wat the Frick” that truly demonstrate the evolution of Getter’s sound over the years. Let’s compare.

GETTER – Something New (Wat The Frick, Sep. 2016)
GETTER & ALGO – Hive (Trenchlords Vol. 1, Nov. 2014)
Okay that comparison was pretty unfair, we chose the softest song from the entire EP; but notice how “In The Cuts” even lacks the deathly heavy sounds found in Getter’s old Dubstep style.
GETTER – In The Cuts Ft. Sneek (Radical Dude, Mar. 2016)
GETTER – Mishap (Trenchlords Vol. 1, Nov. 2014)
You might argue that Getter is off to bigger and better things now that he’s one of Skrillex’s right hand producers in the infamous OWSLA records label. Even though the Bay Area producer is well past his riddim days, his real fans will always remember lil’ 19 year old Getter slaying the ridiculously heavy bass music scene with his compadres in Firepower Records [Rekoil, Algo, Datsik, Etc.]
